Texas has experienced its ups and downs this winter with bouts of snow, ice, and the like. But spring is on the horizon and we've gotten many glimpses of the warm Texas weather we know and love over the past few weeks. The transition into the next season means doing some much-needed upkeep on your vehicle. Take a few minutes to read over our tips that will have you and your MINI looking and feeling good as you cruise into spring!

  1. Change or rotate your tires. South Texas doesn't present the need for snow or winter tires during the winter months, but if your vehicle has them this is a good time to change them out for regular rubber or all-season tires. Take this time to also have them balanced and rotated to extend the life of each one. The final step is to have the tire pressure checked to make sure they're riding equally as smooth.

  2. Get new wiper blades. With the amount of rain and gunk we've been spreading across our windshields lately, it's time for a fresh start and new pair of wiper blades. Wiper blades wear out quickly, but luckily they are cheap and easy to install. Most auto parts retailers will even install them for free if you ask! Don't get caught in a monsoon with worn out wipers.

  3. Update your emergency kit. If you don't already keep one of these in your vehicle, now is the time to find these items and have them with you whenever you travel. The basics include a flashlight, gas can, tire pressure gauge, jumper cables, water bottles, granola bars, multi-tool kit, first-aid kit, and duct tape to list a few. If you ever find yourself in a bind you'll be happy you've replenished these things that could potentially save you from being stranded on the side of the road.

  4. Deep-clean the entire car. Yes, you want the outside of your MINI lominoking shiny and new, but don't forget about the interior where you spend a good portion of your time! Throw away any trash from door compartments and center consoles, wash or replace floor mats, and vacuum out any nooks where crumbs can easily fall; detailing can be tedious but you will feel accomplished and proud to drive a spotless vehicle once it's all complete.

Taking the time and effort to treat your car well will result in it treating you well also. If your MINI needs additional maintenance support our trained technicians are happy to take a look and diagnose any issues! Schedule an appointment or swing by our dealership for more information.
