Right on the tail of their recent New York City artistic outreach program with the #MINIPiano and Sing For Hope, MINI USA has announced a new partnership with The Little Black Pearl Art & Design Academy and Saatchi Art in order to help promote literacy throughout Chicago, Illinois. This newfound partnership entitled The Library Project will bring uniquely painted mobile libraries to public parks all around Chicago's North, South, and West Division. These mobile units will be painted by current art students as well as local and international artists from Saatchi Art--all as part of the Chicago Park District's Library Reading Initiative. By creating these innovative mobile libraries, the goal is to make books far more accessible to children in these areas and to eventually build a community around sharing and donating books. Terri Evans, the Metro Marketing Manager for the Central Region of MINI USA said, "We understand that many children in urban communities do not have access to books to help them build their literary skills and inspire them. By providing access to creativity and art, MINI USA is helping to make urban life better by enabling local students to think big and dream bigger through storytelling."

An incredible undertaking which took several months to plan and execute, it is soon time for the grand reveal of this magnificent project! On Friday, September 28, there will be a press conference where these amazing libraries on wheels will be shown to the public for the first time,  followed by a VIP preview which begins in the afternoon and gives exclusive access to the artists as well as several talks and panel discussions. And for every book that is donated to the cause, MINI USA also pledges to match the donation to a local Chicago Park or School in the area.
