  1. Schlitterbahn. This waterpark and resort is the ultimate summer getaway for the impending heat. Schlitterbahn is 70 acres of water playground with something for everyone! If the Comal River is your scene, hop in a tube and float all day. But other epic adventures await on rides such as the Downhill Racer! This is the best way to cool off from the summer heat without being a couch potato! More information can be found here.

  2. Alamo Drafthouse. In 1997, the coolest movie theater you'll ever experience was founded. Unlike the standard theaters, this one is set apart by food and drink deliveries throughout the screening (if you so wish), and attention to detail in film presentation and programming. Entertainment Weekly said it was the #1 theater in America, and the only way to find out if that's true is by choosing a flick and trying it for yourself! More information can be found here.

  3. SeaWorld. If you have a family divided over which mini vacay to take part in, we have found the perfect compromise! Founded in 1959, SeaWorld is where amusement park meets live attraction. With over 15 rides, shows, and exhibits featuring whales, sea lions, dolphins and more, every member of the family is sure to find something they love at SeaWorld. (Plus, who doesn't want to dine with Shamu??) More information can be found here.

  4. Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. Continuing with the animal theme, this attraction is fun for toddlers to teens alike! From ostriches to zebras to giraffes, this Texas African Safari is located off IH 35 between San Antonio and New Braunfels. The wildlife ranch is open daily from 9 am-5 pm and is one of Texas's most entertaining attractions. (Who doesn't want to come face to face with a kangaroo??) You'll explore through 450 acres of rolling hills, creeks, and trees to witness over 500 exotic animals from 40 animal species. More information can be found here.

  5. Six Flags Fiesta Texas. This San Antonio theme park opened in 1992 and has been providing thrills ever since! A day at Six Flags Fiesta does not disappoint; with it being divided into five themed areas, and White Water Bay adjacent to the park, your day will be maxed out with roller coasters, concessions, and photo ops. You'll want to wear your comfy shoes for this one! More information can be found here.

Which attraction will be the first on your summer to-see list? What are some of your favorite local attractions that we didn't mention? With plenty of entertainment right here in San Antonio, your summer is sure to be packed with adventure! Motor over to one of these options and you can thank us later!
